Typical UK wedding car hire prices
Most UK couples spend between £350 and £800 on wedding transport for one vehicle. Where you land inside that range depends far more on time and travel than on the car itself.
- Modern saloon or executive car: £250–£450 for a short local booking
- Classic or vintage car (Beetle, Morris, Bentley replica): £350–£650
- VW camper van wedding car: £400–£700, usually with a longer window included
- Rolls-Royce or high-end vintage: £600–£1,200
- Two vehicles or multiple journeys: add roughly 60–80% of the first vehicle
Peak Saturdays between May and September sit at the top of each range. A Friday, Sunday or off-season date can be noticeably cheaper for exactly the same car and driver.
What should be included as standard
Before you compare two quotes, check both include these. If one doesn't, it isn't cheaper — it's smaller.
- Ribbons and bows in your colours, fitted on the day
- A pre-wedding route check or venue drive-past
- Time for photographs with the vehicle, not just the journey
- Chilled fizz or soft drinks with proper glasses
- Full public liability and hire-and-reward insurance, plus a licensed, DBS-sensible driver
- A written booking confirmation with timings, addresses and a cancellation policy
The extras that push a quote up
- Mileage outside a set radius, charged per mile
- Waiting time beyond a fixed window (often 2–3 hours)
- A second journey to the reception, or a second pick-up for bridesmaids
- Bank holiday and New Year's Eve surcharges
- Fuel surcharges quoted separately from the headline price

How to save money without downgrading the day
- Choose a Friday or Sunday, or a date in October to April
- Book one vehicle and one journey, then use taxis for guests
- Pick a venue where the ceremony and reception share a site
- Book early — good vehicles have one date, and late bookings have less room to negotiate

How much should I budget for wedding car hire in Lancashire?+
Most Lancashire couples budget £400–£700 for one characterful vehicle with a driver, ribbons, drinks and time for photographs. Longer distances or a second journey to the reception add to that.
How far in advance should I book a wedding car?+
Nine to twelve months is typical for a summer Saturday. If you have a peak-season date and you've booked the venue, book transport next — there is only one of most vehicles.
Do wedding car companies ask for a deposit?+
Yes. A deposit of around 20–25% secures the date, with the balance due before the wedding. Always check the cancellation and postponement terms in writing before you pay.
