Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland
The prettiest driving in the county and, not coincidentally, the strongest run of venues. Expect stone barns, converted mills and country houses within a few miles of Clitheroe, Whalley and Waddington. Lanes are narrow and often single-track — build in extra time, and ask your venue where a longer vehicle should turn.
Preston, Chorley and central Lancashire
Georgian halls, hotel venues and a good supply of licensed barns. Access is straightforward and most sites are within twenty minutes of the M6, which makes a same-day second journey easy to arrange.
Blackburn, Burnley and Pendle
Hillside venues with real views, plus a growing number of restored mill and farm sites. Steep approaches are common — worth a mention when you book transport.
Lancaster, Morecambe and the north
Castles, coastal light and quieter roads. Lancaster is a longer run from most of the county, so ask about mileage before you commit.
The Fylde coast
Blackpool, Lytham and St Annes give you sea, promenade backdrops and plenty of hotel capacity. Wind is the variable — have an indoor photograph plan.
Questions to ask any Lancashire venue
- Can a wedding car pull up directly at the ceremony entrance?
- Is the drive single-track, gravel or steeply graded?
- Where can the vehicle wait during the ceremony?
- Is confetti allowed, and if so where?
- Is there a wet-weather photograph spot within walking distance?
Ask your venue coordinator for the supplier arrival plan. If they have one written down, you've picked a good venue.

Common questions
What are the most popular wedding areas in Lancashire?+
The Ribble Valley leads for rural barns and country houses, followed by central Lancashire around Preston and Chorley for halls and hotels, and the Fylde coast for seaside weddings.
Do you cover wedding venues outside Lancashire?+
Yes — we regularly drive to Greater Manchester, Leeds and West Yorkshire venues. Mileage beyond our core area is quoted up front.
Can a VW camper get down a country venue driveway?+
Almost always. Edna is no longer than a large estate car and lower than a van. If your venue has a very tight approach, we'll drive it in advance and tell you.
