What makes it work
- Countryside that photographs well in every season, not just July
- A dense cluster of venues around Clitheroe, Whalley, Waddington and Sawley
- Genuinely good food — the valley punches far above its weight
- Accommodation within a short drive of most venues
Styles of venue
Stone barns and farms
The signature Ribble Valley wedding. Exposed stone, long tables, and space outside for drinks. Check the surface underfoot if you're in heels.
Country houses and halls
More formal, usually with grounds you can use for photographs and a wet-weather room that isn't an afterthought.
Village churches with a nearby reception
The classic pairing, and the one where transport matters most — you'll make at least two journeys.
Driving the valley
Lanes are narrow, hedges are high and in summer you will meet a tractor. We add fifteen minutes to every Ribble Valley journey as a matter of routine and we drive the route before your date so nothing is a surprise.
The best photograph of the day is often the one taken on a lane, three minutes from the venue, with nobody else in it.
Camper wedding car hire in the Ribble Valley
Edna is based in Blackburn, a short run from Clitheroe and Whalley, so the Ribble Valley is home turf. See our Ribble Valley page for coverage and timings, or check your date on the booking calendar.
