Why couples choose a camper

How many people fit?
Fewer than you'd think from the outside. Edna seats four passengers plus the driver. That's usually the bride and her father on the way, and the couple afterwards. Plan bridesmaids into a second run or a separate car.
Dresses, and whether they fit
Yes. Camper doors are wide and tall, and there's floor space in front of the bench, so a full skirt travels better than in most saloons. Bring a sheet if you're worried about a light dress on a dry day — we'll have one anyway.
Weather
A classic camper is warm enough with the heater running and lovely with the roof up in sunshine. In heavy rain we'll drive right up to the door and there'll be an umbrella in the front — that's part of the job.
Age and reliability
Bay window campers are fifty years old. A good owner has a full maintenance record, an MOT you can see, a recovery plan and hire-and-reward insurance. Ask for all four. Edna has been fully restored and is serviced continuously — Rob's own family travels in her.
Questions to ask any camper owner

- Who will actually be driving on the day?
- What insurance do you carry, and can I see the certificate?
- What happens if the vehicle breaks down?
- How long am I booking — a journey, or a window of time?
- Are ribbons, drinks and photographs included?
You're not just booking a vehicle. On the day, your driver is the calmest person you'll speak to before you walk in.

Is a VW camper a practical wedding car?+
For most weddings, yes — provided you plan around four passengers and allow a little extra travel time. It's more comfortable for a big dress than most classic cars.
Are old campers reliable enough for a wedding?+
A well-maintained, restored camper with a proper service record and recovery cover is very reliable. Always ask to see the maintenance history and insurance.
Can we have photographs with the camper?+
Yes — unlimited, and we build time for them into every booking rather than charging by the journey.
